ICS offers a two or three year 'A' level programme of study to suitably qualified students, aged 16 - 19. The programme of study follows the Cambridge International A'level courses a rigorous set of courses and examinations that are widely accepted as proof of academic ability for entry to universities/colleges worldwide.
Students choose to study up to four 'A' level courses and are taught in small groups or individually. Students are individually advised throughout their studies by senior secondary school tutors who also provide college/university counselling.
Courses may be selected from the following academic groups and subjects currently on offer include:
Extra Curricular Programme: Students are required to take part in a physical activity on a weekly basis, complete a Community Service Programme and meet for a Tutorial with their academic tutor once per week. An extensive Travel and Learn programme is also available to all 'A' level students.
ICS is an international school and accepts students from a wide variety of academic backgrounds. The School admits students for its 'A' level courses who can demonstrate a good level of proficiency in the subjects they wish to study. Furthermore, each student must be able to demonstrate proficiency in the English Language, considered to be at least upper intermediate level. To this end, students may join the School's Summer English Language and Study Skills Preparation Course (STEP) which runs each year throughout July and August. Students may also complete an IELTS course during their A Level programme.
Upon acceptance to the programme, each student meets with their Academic Tutor who discusses and builds the students' Individualised Learning Plan (ILP). This might include discussion of whether or not to do a 2 or 3 year pathway, number of 'A' levels to study, whether to complete an IELTS course, and potential College/University placement and research.
