ENGLISH FOR EDUCATION

This British Council Accredited programme runs from June to late August. It is aimed at learners wishing to develop their English language and communication skills in a real school environment. The nursery class (3-4 year olds) is not inspected by The British Council.
The course is 23 hours per week. The minimum stay is 2 weeks.

COURSE OUTLINE

In class

The main focus of this programme is for young learners to improve their English through thought-provoking activities that are of interest to them and relevant to their lives.  As well as General English, learners have opportunities to develop English through other disciplines like art, drama, science, maths and geography. These are linked together by weekly projects such as ‘Water’, ‘Space’ or ‘Animals’ and the ‘Discover London’ academic excursion.

The outdoor classroom

An afternoon of sport is also included where students practise hand-eye co-ordination and undertake aerobic exercise, as well as team sports such as football.
Summer school students aged 5 years and above have one ‘Discover London’ academic excursion each week to museums, galleries and famous historical sites.  The students prepare for the excursion in class and complete follow-up work when they return. The 3 and 4 year old students will have an excursion once every two weeks. On the alternate weeks they will have a picnic in the park, to which parents are invited.

Break Times

Students play in the school garden or in Regent’s Park at morning break and lunch time.

Summer School Secondary Programme runs at:
