IB Early Years Education (ages 3-5)
We aim to create a sense of community and instil a passion for learning in every student, including our very youngest learners.
Young children love to learn, play and explore, and we give them everything they need to encourage them to learn in the ways that make them happiest from an early age.
Outdoor Learning plays an essential role in Early Years education. At ICS London, we offer all children regular outdoor learning opportunities to develop their personal, social and emotional skills, enhance creativity and bring our curriculum to life.
Our outdoor learning sessions are planned by our dedicated teachers alongside our Forest School Leader. They are led by the interest of learners. Children enjoy experiences from across the curriculum including telling stories, hunting for invertebrates, making mud pies and exploring habitats.
Outdoor learning builds on the natural instinct to learn that everyone is born with and offers opportunities to make choices, initiate learning and take risks which supports the development of positive attitudes and behaviour.
Play-based learning is a type of early childhood education based on child-led and open-ended play. It helps children develop social skills, motivation to learn, and language & numeracy skills.
At ICS London, we believe in providing opportunities for children to play and explore whilst learning about the world around them. The classroom environment is carefully planned by our specialist Early Years teachers to promote independent, confident and successful learners, which results in a lifelong love of learning and success.
Perfect Preparation for the PYP
Early years students at ICS London receive a fun introduction to the world of education, and are able to continue their journey through the Primary Years Programme (PYP) once they pass the age of 5 years old.
