MONDAY - New Eco warriors, New Composing Club, Eyenews School Newspaper and Homework Club

Eco Warriors

Create and lead projects that inspire  ‘green’ living and awareness (such as wildlife conservation, ethical food promotion etc.) whilst educating yourselves and others about sustainability.

 

New Composing Club

Do you like creating music? Whether you like creating electronic music or dreaming of becoming a songwriter, this is your chance to find out more or develop further your knowledge and skills related to composing, recording and promoting your music.

Eyenews school newspaper

School newspaper club, run by the students for the students. Giving students a chance to share their experiences, document what is going on in and around the school and share their creative writing.
The school newspaper is written on a blog, which is shared with staff, students and parents.

In the past students have written short stories, sports and movie reviews, poems, documented school trips and activity days and interviewed teachers on their fashion!

TUESDAY - New Basketball Club, New Business Enterprise Club, New Boxing Club and Homework Club

Basketball Club

The Basketball Club is open for Boys and Girls of all ages from beginners to more experienced players. Basketball skills, strategies and matches will be the focus in every session.

 

Boxing Club

Non-contact boxing is a great way of learning the basics of boxing in a controlled environment.  Students will learn about the various shots and techniques to attack as well as the various defences and footwork.  The course is predominantly based around pad work ensuring you understand straight shots, hooks and uppercuts.  Once these techniques are improved there are various sequences and combinations you will be able to put together. The course requires discipline and hard work whilst ensuring you are having great time and learning new skills.  It is also a great way to improve your overall fitness and confidence in self-defence.

 

Business Enterprise

Create a business, develop a brand and make a product. Sell for profit and and learn how to manage and lead a business enterprise. Please be aware that due to the school musical this club will start Tuesday May 1st.

WEDNESDAY - Football, Rock Climbing, Band Club and Homework Club

Football Club

Football club will provide training for the boys and girls football teams, The ICS Super Reds, by Mr John and Mr Muz. The sessions will focus on techniques, drills, game play strategies and matches. Both teams will have their own football pitch to practice on. The Girls team were successful runners up in the recent Halycon Tournament, losing out only on penalties! 

 

Homework Club

Work on your homework in a supportive, focused environment. A member of staff supervises students. They give help where possible, though will not operate as a tutor.

 

Band Club

Always wanted to form a band? Play the guitar, piano, drums, trumpet or any other instrument? Want to do lead singing or prefer to do backing vocals? Then this is the club for you! Starts 2nd May.

 

Rock Climbing at Seymour Leisure Center

Climb to new heights at the Seymour Leisure Center. There are eight 13 meter rope lines, four 7 meter rope lines and a boulder room with over 50 blocs. This wall is ideal for beginners and experienced climbers alike


THURSDAY - Little Coders Club: Robotics and Design, Homework Club

Little Coders Club: Developing Computational Thinking

Students will use educational robots to learn computational thinking concepts - while having fun - as they design real-world systems such as traffic lights. Through robot and design play, they will intuitively understand various coding concepts, develop logical reasoning and gain creative confidence. Primary School children will walk over to Star Street escorted by an ICS staff member. All students must bring their own device, including ICS Chromebooks. All students must be picked up at 21 Star Street W2 1QB at 5pm.
